Pho Queen and Team Mud Biscuit!!!
Other than the passion in YUMMY
Vietnamese food, Pho Queen seeks out energetic adventures and fun in the great outdoor...
The Ultimate challenge mud run http://www.usmcmudrun.org/ with Team Mud Biscuit.
We did a mud run and survived (9/19/09) Saturday in S.C. at a Marine base
- Toby, Len, Chris & Pho Queen - Team Mud Biscuit.
We ran through 4 miles of 30 obstacles such as
climbing over 10 foot wall, swinging ropes, climbing up hills after
hills, jumping large concrete pipes, swimming in trench of muddy water, and much more…
Team Mud Biscuit rocked! We came in 299 out 1727 teams overall and 77th out of 715 teams
with mixed gender. Our time was 57:38 on an average pace of 13:44/mile. Not too bad for the first timer on the
course.
Does that sound fun or what? Yes, we paid to get dirty!!! It is all to a good cause – the Marine
foundation…

Vu Lan pictures at Phap Vu Temple
September 5, 2009, Phap Vu Temple celebrated Vu Lan festival heartily. Vu Lan ceremony initiated the celebration
and Vietnamese music entertainment followed. Of course lots of food were available. All the food were vegetarian. There
was no particular food dedicated to the Vu Lan holiday. There were desserts such as Vietnamese Che, fried bananas, etc. There
were springrolls, bun bo Hue, and Pho. All food were vegetarian cuisines. Tofu and soybeans were substitutions for many meat
flavored dishes. I had a ve getarian banh xeo (kinda like ommelette but with rice flours instead of eggs). My husband had bun xao (stir-fried rice noodles
and vegetables). My kids had Vietnamese fast food - eggrolls, banh tieu, and banh cam. It was all yummy!!!
All
of my pictures are posted on my facebook.
